The use of a catalyst comprising at least one mazzite zeolite with an element from group IIA, IVB, IIB, or IVA grafted externally to the crystals, in the dismutation and/or transalkylation of alkylaromatics, is claimed.The catalyst also comprises a matrix and, possibly, a group IB or VIII element.
