GENE RELATED TO PROGRAM CELL DEATH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gene useful for elucidating the mechanism of the program cell death of a neuron and that of a central nerve disease (e.g. Alzheimer disease and cerebral infarction) and preparing a disease model animal. SOLUTION: This gene contains a base sequence coding a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of the formula. The gene is isolated and collected by screening a neuron (rat ganglion cervicale superius neuron) capable of inducing program cell death by a differential hybridization method.
