PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus wherein it is unnecessary to adjust a head gap during assembling and to extend uselessly the length of a carrying means in the width direction and it can be achieved to decrease cost and to record an image with high quality. SOLUTION: This image recording apparatus has a constitution with a recording head carrying means (a carriage) 2 which carries a recording head 1 and moves forth and back on a material P for recording, guiding means 3 and 4 for guiding the movement of the head carrying means, and a carrying means 5 (carrying roller) for carrying freely the material P for recording in one direction. In this case, both end parts (a roller shaft) of the carrying means as well as the guiding means 3 and 4 can be supported at the inside of the moving range 11c of the head carrying means 2. |
