PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mixed carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt having low structural viscosity and improved thixotropy and suitable as a paste for printing, an additive for seasonings, etc., by mixing plural carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salts under specific condition. SOLUTION: This mixed composition is produced by mixing two kinds of carboxymethylcellulose sodium salts CMCA and CMCB in such a manner as to satisfy the relationship of formula [η]M is intrinsic viscosity of the mixed CMC consisting of CMCA and CMCB; [η]A is intrinsic viscosity of CMCA; [η]B is intrinsic viscosity of CMCB; ϕA is weight fraction of CMCA; ϕB is weight fraction of CMCB} within the intrinsic viscosity range of 1.6-12.0dL/g for each CMCA and CMCB.
