Use of L-luciferin in bioluminometric measurements in which luciferase is pre-incubated with adenosine triphosphate, L-luciferin and pyrophosphatase. Addition of pyrophosphate triggers a reaction in which light is emitted, enabling qualitative and quantitative determination of pyrophosphate.
