[Class 8(i)] [Also in Groups X, XXIII, XXV and XXXII] A buffer strip to be mounted on a supporting flange 27 of a vacuum cleaner 26 comprises an effective portion 28 of a soft but resilient material attached to a flexible channel-shaped member 3 formed of metal and adapted to embrace and make positive interlocking connection with the flange or with complementary means 11 carried by the flange. The connection is such that it can be broken only by distorting one or other of the ports. The strip may be of rubber and may be ornamented. The flange 7 of the metal member 3 may engage beneath projections &c. from the flange, or as shown beneath shoulders on clips 11 which engage the flange by means of inwardly directed tangs 12.
