<p>An atmospheric pressure stem generator associable to a cooking oven comprises a water reservoir (1) and electric heater elements (22). The reservoir (1) is substantially box-shaped and has one side closed by at least one removable wall plate (3), so that the interior of the reservoir (1) is accessible for servicing. The heater elements (22) fixedly secured to the removable wall plate, permitting calcine deposits to be readily removed therefrom. The steam generator further comprises a rod (17), preferably associated to an emergency steam outlet pipe (15), and extending into the reservoir (1) down to below the lowest water elevel therein. Extraction of the rod permits the user to ascertain the amount of calcine deposits and the presence of a sufficient water supply.
