PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To play diverse timbres with small storage capacity while changing sounding positions with the timbres by setting the timbres of plural sound sources for every timbre group, storing sound source specification data consisting of a small number of bits as timbre data in playing pattern data, and specifying a sounding means for each timbre. SOLUTION: The timbres of plural sound sources are set for every timbre group, the sound source specification data consisting of a small number of bits are stored as the timbre data in the playing pattern data, and sounding means are specified by the timbres. A rhythm pattern memory is stored with a series of event data EVT based upon a musical instrument group number IGN and a desired rhythm pattern by rhythm kinds. The IGN represents one of 8 musical instrument groups. Each musical instrument group includes 8 musical instrument timbres which should be used to play one or plural kinds of rhythm and those musical instrument timbres correspond to 8 sounding channels of a rhythm sound source part. |
