PURPOSE:To form CaS inclusion in molten metal at a low cost by mixing CaSO4 powder with CaC2 powder and/or C powder and injecting the powdery mixture into the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:CaSO4 powder is mixed with C powder or powder of a Ca compound or alloy in <=1 weight ratio of CaSO4/C or <=0.8 weight ratio of CaSO4/Ca. When the powdery mixture is injected into molten metal, CaS inclusion lowering the initial value of oxygen in the molten metal and requiring no increase in the initial value of S is formed in the molten metal at a low cost.
