PHOTOSENSITIVE COMPOSITION AND PATTERN FORMING METHOD USING THE COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form blue, green and red filters on the fluorescent screen of a color cathode-ray tube having required optical characteristics by using modified PVA having a specified monomeric unit in each macromolecule and an alkali dichromate. SOLUTION: This photosensitive compsn. contains modified PVA obtd. by bringing rhodamine B or sulforhodamine B as a dye and PVA into a condensation reaction and having a monomeric unit represented by formula I or II in each macromolecule and an alkali dichromate as a photosensitizer. It is preferable that the modified PVA has 30-45 deg.C cloud point and has 0.5-5.0mol% condensed monomeric units of modified PVA. A substrate is coated with this compsn., the resultant coating film is exposed through a prescribed pattern and the unexposed part is dissolved by development with water.
