PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head which is suitable for reproduction by realizing high output and low noise. SOLUTION: A pair of magnetic cores 1, 2 formed of the jointing material of single crystal ferrite 10, 12 having the same composition as that of monocrystalline ferrite 9, 11 containing Fe2 O3 of 52 to 54mol%, ZnP of 24 to 26mol% and MnO of 20 to 24mol% are brought face to face with each other so as to have a magnetic gap g1 and joined with fusion glass 3 to use it for reproduction. Also, the single crystal ferrite 9, 11 is formed so as to take the so-called VHS azimuth. Further, the coefficient of line thermal expansion within the range of 100 deg.C to 350 deg.C of the fusion glass 3 for joining the magnetic cores 1, 2 is made smaller by 20×10<-7> to 26×10<-7> than the coefficient of line thermal expansion of the joining ferrite of constituting the magnetic cores 1, 2.
