PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain silica-carbon black composite particles capable of being stably dispersed in a dispersing medium such as water, to obtain a dispersion sol containing the composite particles, and to obtain a coating solution containing the composite particles. SOLUTION: Silica-carbon black composite particles in which the surfaces of carbon black are at least partially coated with silica. The silica-carbon black composite particle dispersion sol contains the silica-carbon black composite particles, and the coating solution contains the silica-carbon black composite particles and a matrix component.
