<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate to hold the corners of a handrail into place by providing a support, handrail members, and two fixing metal fittings, designing the metal fittings so that one of them has horizontal and vertical parts while the other consists of horizontal parts, attaching the horizontal part of each fixing metal fitting to the lower surface of the corner part of each of the two handrail members to fix the corner part, and attaching the vertical part of one of the fixing metal fittings to the support. SOLUTION: Two handrail members 2a, 2b have their ends butted against each other at 45 degrees and nailed to the top of a support 4. A fixing metal fitting 5 for an arris is screwed into place with its horizontal side pieces 7a, 7b pressed against a corner part 3 and its vertical side pieces 8a, 8b pressed against the support 4. A fixing metal fitting 6 for an inside corner is screwed into place with its horizontal side pieces 9a, 9b pressed against the lower surface of the corner part 3. Therefore, the corner part of the handrail can be easily and firmly held in place using the simply constructed metal fittings.</p> |
