摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the energy efficiency of a power output device as a whole by operating a prime mover at a operating point at which the efficiency becomes higher. SOLUTION: A power output device 20 is provided with an engine 50, a clutch motor 30, an assist motor 4, and a controller 80. The motors 30 and 40 convert the energy expressed by the product of the number of revolutions and torque of a crank shaft 56 into the energy expressed by the product of the number of revolutions and the torque of a driving shaft 22 and transmits the energy to the drive shaft 22 under the control of the controller 80. Since the engine 50 can be operated freely at any operating point when the output energy is the same, the energy efficiency of the power output device can be improved further as a whole by finding in advance the operating point at which the energy efficiency becomes the highest to each output energy and controlling the fuel injection and opening of the throttle valve of the device and the motors 30 and 40 so that the device can be operated at the operating point.
