Orifice for motor vehicle brake circuit pressure regulator

The orifice is formed in a disc which has a plain central bore (2). A die is pressed against the disc so that the material around the hole is partly sheared off and plastically deformed. The end face of the die incorporates a central pin the diameter of which determines the size of the orifice (1). The pin is surrounded by a conical face which slopes down towards the outer rim. The outer rim forms a sharp edge which shears the material of the disc while the conical part of the die forces the material against the outside of the pin.
