Ceiling mounted support for swivelling arm of lighting or other fitting

A ceiling fitting, video-camera etc. for e.g. an operating theatre has a hollow cental stem (14) flange-connected to the ceiling through which the electrical leads (41,l42,43) pass to the slip rings (3,4,5) in a cylindrical plastic carrier (1) secured to the stem (14) via set screws (21). A pair of axially grooved external sleeve-bearing shells (9) slide over matching projections on the carrier(1) on either side of the slip rings (3,4,5) and are thus prevented from rotating. The horizontal swivel arm (32) has a transverse cylindrical head (44,17) carrying the spring contact block (18) for the slip rings (3,4,5) which slides over the bearing shells (9) and is retained by the circlip (31) for full 360 deg. rotation.
