PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a video conference among multiple spots by providing a means for simultaneously encoding image data displayed in plural small areas and for transmitting and receiving these encoded image data. SOLUTION: When the number of recognized terminals is not '2' at the time of loop connection or after the loop connection, the transmission of image data to a frame memory 7 for transmission is instructed to an image composition part 6 by a control part 4, it is calculated how much power of '4' the number of divided picture is and at the time of loop connection or after the loop connection, a recognized present terminal number and a value P calculated in advance are reported to an image format transforming part 9. Corresponding to the number of divided pictures, the image data for one frame transferred from an image input part 10 are respectively horizontally and vertically thinned out into 1/2, the area of the frame memory 7 for transmission corresponding to the present terminal number is detected and the image data are transferred to the detected area. Thus, the video conference, etc., using a pictorial communication system is enabled among spots more than six. |
