PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector with which post-processing can be easily performed even when the contract of CATV is canceled by providing a separate dummy circuit composed of an additional in-terminal and a terminal resistor parallelly connected between this in-terminal and the ground. SOLUTION: During the period of experiential monitor, the cable of a CATV pull-in line is connected to an in terminal 3 of a protector 1, the cable of a TV set is connected to an out terminal 4, and a cable from a conventional TV reception antenna is connected to an in terminal 5 of the dummy circuit. When the contract of subscription is not formally established, the cable connected from the TV reception antenna to the in terminal 5 of the dummy circuit is connected to the in terminal 3 of the protector 1 and oppositely, the cable of pull-in line connected to the in terminal 3 is connected to the in terminal 5 of the dummy circuit. Thus, only a conventional TV program can be watched and since the pull-in line is terminated by a terminal resistor 13 of the dummy circuit, no adverse influence is exerted upon another CATV distribution network. |
