PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus by which the error of both a position and a direction is removed regarding a position mark indicating the present position and the advance direction of an own vehicle and by which the error can be corrected so as to indicate an intrinsic position and an intrinsic direction. SOLUTION: In a map matching processing operation in which a present position C' obtained from a dead reckoning operation is positioned on a road 23, a CPU 1 turns and moves the present posture C' to a position C as the point of intersection of an arc track which uses the distance between a position A and a position B as a radius with the specific road 23 which is estimated to be most suitable for positioning the present position C' while the immediately preceding vehicle position A which is found in an immediately preceding periodic cycle and which is positioned on the road after the map matching processing operation is used as the center. |
