Wire wool detection device

The device is used with a bar sieve (1) and has 2 sets of spaced rods (1a,2a) supported by respective relatively insulated carriers (3,4) and connected to opposite terminals of a voltage source (7). Current flows between the terminals in the presence of the wire wool for lighting a display lamp (8) connected in series with the voltage source. Pref. one set of spaced rods (1a) act as part of the sieve, the other set (2a) acting as part of a holding grid (2), the voltage connected to a rod of the latter set which is shorter than the remaining rods.
