PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold image data obtained by image editing in the device, effectively utilize the image data obtained by the image editing, and improve the operation efficiency and productivity of the image editing. SOLUTION: When an image is composed, an image 801 read out of a 1st document is compressed primarily by a primary compression/expansion part 703 and stored in a primary storage part 706 and while an image 802 is read out of a 2nd document, the primary compression/expansion part 703 expands the primary compressed image data (image 801) in the primary storage part 706; and an image composition part 702 performs composition to output a composite image 803, which is compressed into secondary compressed image data through the primary compression/expansion part, 703, primary storage part 706, and a secondary compression/expansion part 705 and stored in a secondary storage part 707. Thereafter, the secondary compressed image data in the secondary storage part 707 are expanded to output the composite image 803. |
