<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fixing method which is capable of eliminating or lessening the use of a release agent, is consequently capable of lessening the adhesion of oil to a recording material and images after fixing and embodying the reduction of the size and cost of a fixing device, improves an offset resistance characteristic, enhances the smoothness of the image surfaces after fixing and provides high image quality and high color development. SOLUTION: This method has a stage for thermally fixing the toner image on a member to be transferred. The toners have coloring agents and binder resin. This binder resin contains a crystalline resin. In addition, the content of components of a mol.wt. of <=10000 in the binder resin is <=20wt.% and the melt viscosity of the crystalline resin at a temp. higher by 30 deg.C than the m.p. of the crystalline resin is 10 to 100,000Pa. A roll having an elastic body is used so as to come into contact with the toner image on the member to be transferred and the release agent is supplied to this roll in such a manner that the coated amt. on the member to be transferred attains <=8.0×10<-3> mg/cm<2> .</p> |
