The appts. uses upper rails individually arranged on the longitudinal direction sides of a seat to hold its seat components. Each upper rail is provided at its outer side with a lower rail also arranged in the seat longitudinal direction. A locking device engages or detaches from the teeth row of each lower rail to enable or otherwise longitudinal direction adjustment to the upper rail. A release appts., provided for the locking device to be connected to the teeth arm of a clamp lever, is rockably supported to an operation lever (12), or a grip rod (13). The grip rod is arranged in the front posture of the seat to provide resistance against the energising power of a spring (35). The sides of the grip rod are set movably in the seat longitudinal direction so that it can prevent the backward turn of the seat when pressure or load acts on its rear.
