Virtual IC-card for payments

The virtual type payment card allows access to an account managed by an server which can be interrogated via the telephone network. The card includes a chip which can be read either by electrical contact, or without direct contact holding a series of digits representing the number to be transmitted to the controlling server via the telephone network. The memorised number is encoded in a number of bits (n), of which a selection (k) are redundant, k being less than n. The number may be extended to include a second number, the first identifying the card and the second identifying the user, whilst a possible third number may indicate the telephone number to be dialled to access the server.
