PURPOSE:To eliminate background fogging and to enhance contrast of a color image by using a specified pigment for a toner composed essentially of a pigment and a resin. CONSTITUTION:The developer is obtained by dispersing into a liquid carrier the toner composed essentially of the resin and the naphthol AS type benzimidazolone pigment represented by formula I in which each of X and Y is H, -CH3, -OCH3, etc., thus permitting the pigment to be made resistant to solvents by the presence of >=2 -CONH- groups in the structure of this pigment, accordingly, the obtained image to be low in background fogging when this pigment is used for the liquid developer, and this developer to be adapted to a superposing development type color electrostatic photography. |
