A golf club head includes an upper surface that has a generally planar central strip (12) surrounded by a series of sloping surfaces (18, 20) extending therefrom that present an aerodynamic profile. The club head also includes a weighted rib that is angularly disposed in the lower surface of the club head that urges the face (14) of the club on plane at the top of the golf swing, concentrates the mass, and adds greater weight at the striking point of the club face with the ball.
