ABS braking control system e.g. for motor vehicle

The ABS braking system has a brake pressure modulator(20) in which an electric servo motor drives the spring-loaded piston, which increases the trapped volume in the wheel brake circuit, thereby reducing the brake pressure of the wheel brakes. For an improved control the current and voltage for the electric servo motor are monitored by the brake controller. The servo supply is monitored with respect to time intervals. These values are included in the self-diagnosis programme of the brake controller. The brake pressure modulator is isolated from the master cylinder, during ABS operation, by control valves.
