<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve probability if separation operation by a method wherein a trouble due to the idling load of a torque limiter is prevented from occurring by using an inexpesive torque limiter and before a feed roller is started to convey a transfer paper, a separation roller is brought into reliable contact with a feed roller, and after contact, the feed roller is begun to be rotated. SOLUTION: A separation conveyance mechanism comprises a pickup roller 4 to feed a topmost transfer paper; a feed roller 2 positioned in front of the pickup roller 4 and intermittently driven to feed transfer papers one by one; and a separation roller 3 to be forced into pressure contact with the feed roller 2 through the transfer paper and rotated in the direction reverse to a conveyance direction. The separation conveyance mechanism separates transfer papers fed in a double feed state by the pickup roller 4 and feeds the transfer papers. The pressur contact force of the separation roller 3 with the feed roller 2 is applied by idling load torque of a torque limiter 28 arranged on a separation roller drive system.</p> |
