PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face of a golf club head that minimizes loss of the forward moment of the head, particularly to relate the shape of the bottom wall of the head to the position of the center of gravity of the head, by enabling the head to bounce while the club is being swung. SOLUTION: A golf-club-head assembly includes a shell having a toe part 32, a heel part 30, and a front defining a forwardly-oriented ball striking face 28, the bottom wall of the shell having a middle ridge part which is extended forward and which has a shallow downwardly-projecting part within an upright plane crossing the ridge part. When the head 14 is in a ball addressing position, the ridge part has a lowermost local area, and the head 14 is improved so that it has a center of gravity that is set almost perpendicular to the local area.
|
