Process for gasifying waste products containing combustible substances

The waste materials are gasified in a gasification reactor with addition of oxygen-containing gas by the process of the circulating fluidised bed. A gas/solids mixture is taken off from the upper zone of the gasification reactor and fed to a separator. Dust-containing gas is taken off from the separator and, separately from this, precipitated solids are at least partially recycled into the lower zone of the gasification reactor. In the gasification reactor, temperatures in the range from 700 to 1000@C prevail. The dust-containing gas taken off from the separator and having a calorific value of about 3000 to 6000 kJ/Nm<3> is fed to a combustion chamber and burned therein at temperatures from 1200 to 1900@C. Molten slag is taken off from the combustion chamber. <IMAGE>
