PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose carbon dioxide and convert it into useful substances by introducing the carbon dioxide into a solution composed of a solute consisting of a carbon dioxide-reducing substance and a solvent soluble of carbon to carry out a reaction. SOLUTION: Carbon dioxide is introduced into a solution composed of a solute consisting of a carbon dioxide-reducing substance and a sol-vent soluble of carbon to allow the carbon dioxide to react with the solute to obtain the solute's oxide and carbon dissolved in the solvent. The carbon dioxide-reducing substance is pref. at least one selected from Ca, Mg, Li, Al, Ti, Si and V; while the substance soluble of the carbon is pref. at least one selected from Fe, Ni, Cu, Pb, Co, Sn, Cr and Mn. Also, it is preferable that the above-mentioned solute's oxide and the solvent containing the carbon formed are recovered through layer separation. |
