PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the video telephone set executionable at lots of positions through a simple means by providing the video telephone set provided with a video/audio reproduction device and a PCMIA card. SOLUTION: A subscriber A is located at a position I of a company. The subscriber A desires for calling of the video telephone set to a subscriber B of a position II. The subscriber A inserts a PCMIA card to a data processing unit (personal computer) PC of the video telephone set. The subscriber A sets the connection to the subscriber B by using a key board of the PC. The subscriber B sets the PC at the position II in the standby state. After the PC at the positions I, II is switched into the standby state, an image of the subscriber A is picked up by a camera CAM and the image is compressed by a compression means of the PCMIA card and the image is sent to the subscriber B at the position II by a communication circuit network. The data received at the position II are decoded by a compression decoding means on the card and displayed on the PC. Simultaneously the image of the subscriber B is sent to the subscriber A and displayed on a display device. |
