The central locking for a car uses a bus system for data transmission between the control circuits and the locks. The system works upon multiplexers of which one is installed in each of the individual control elements. For each door lock there is a microcontroller, a motor driver and control sensors, which are arranged in circuit behind the multiplexers. Apart from the sensors, they are all on the same circuit board. The boards are in dust-free and water-tight enclosures. The bus system is laid out as a digital single wire system with pulse width modulated bits. The multiplexers have three inputs (bus, power supply and earth). |
