<p>A method of renting software that relies on the reversal of encryption processes by the integration of secure processing into the system microprocessor of a user controlled data processing system. It consists of protected software objects, that in addition to being functionally limited to requires reversal of said limitation whithin the system microprocessor, they also have closely integrated information about conditions of use. This is used to distribute computer software on a large scale that may run on any computer. The user is charged on a unit basis. The secure processes described for the system microprocessor will have applications in other secure processes.</p> |
