Developer system with developer carrier for conveying developer

The developer system has a magnetic field prodn. unit (5) to produce a magnetic field, to deposit developer on the developer carrier (4). A developer regulating element (6) regulates the amount of developer (3) deposited on the carrier. A developed storage element (7) forms a developer storage chamber. The regulating element or wiper, upstream relative to the direction, in which limits the developer conveyed by the carrier sleeve. A toner storage region (3a) borders the side upstream in the conveying direction, and has an opening (8a) for toner refilling, lying opposite the developer carrier. Fresh toner is refilled from the toner storage container (8) to the developer across the opening, based on the movement of the developer. An extension projecting from a surface of the developer storage element, lies opposite the carrier, and extends in a direction to the conveying direction.
