An air nozzle (10) forms an air passage for conducting combustion air from the blower housing to the engine. The air nozzle is arranged adjacent to the blower wheel and has an inlet (12) incorporating a collision wall (14) arranged near to the periphery of the blower wheel, which leads air to the inlet. The collision wall has a partly-elliptical shape when viewed in the flow direction, the ellipse of which has a ratio to the axes of approximately 20.1:1 to 3.5:1, and preferably 2.4:1. The inlet (12) has a generally rectangular cross-section and the ratio of its width to its height is preferably 3.5:1.
