METHOD FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING AN OPTICAL DISK

A method for recording and playing a signal at/from an optical disk is disclosed. The optical disk(2) has a data recording region containing a recorded data and an address region containing an address of the recorded data and a name region containing a name of the recorded data. The method comprises a step of setting a character searching mode to search a recorded name at the name region; a step of reading the recorded name data at the name region to determine whether the read name data is identical to the searching character or not; a step of reading the address of the optical disk corresponding to the recorded data and playing the corresponding recorded data, in case that the read name data is identical to the searching character; and a step of reading a next name data and performing above described steps, in case that the read name data is not identical to the searching character.
