PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress plate width variation to a minimum by predicting temp. variation at skid mark, etc., beforehand and changing responsiveness of plate width control. SOLUTION: At the beginning, temp. variation in the longitudinal direction of a material to be rolled is directly measured by a thermometer or is indirectly estimated while replacing with rolling load variation at an edger, etc., resulting from hardness variation due to temp. variation of skid mark, etc. That is, plate width external disturbance produced between stands due to a temp. variation factor in the rolling direction of rolling material is predicted beforehand by extracting from frequency analysis. By using this predicted value, gain correction of a controller for tension control by looper operation between stands, which is a representative plate width control means, is executed. By this method, responsiveness of tension control is changed corresponding to a size of plate width external disturbance, thus, stabilized plate width control is made possible.
|
