PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to retrieve a desired telephone number with a few button operations and a few button types by displaying a character as an index and selecting a specific character so as to display a name and its telephone number using the character for a head character. SOLUTION: In the case of retrieving a telephone directory, an index of Katakana (square form of Japanese syllabary) letters 'A, KA, Sa, Ta, Na, Ha, Ma, Ya, Ra, Wa' is displayed. The index is used and a letter Ka is selected for example. Then names and their memory number and telephone numbers whose capital is Ka registered in the telephone directory are displayed. |
