PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise an operation speed and to attain the high definition of an image by utilizing the characteristics of a semiconductor laser device as much as possible. SOLUTION: This device comprises a semiconductor laser device 20, a bias current source Jb that biases the semiconductor laser device 20, a pulse current source Jp that drives the semiconductor laser device 20 and a photodiode 60 that detects the laser beam L from the semiconductor laser device 20. A feedback loop is so constituted that control signals Cb, Cp based on the detection current Ipd from the photodiode 60 are fed back to the bias current source Jb and pulse current source Jp. Since a selection switch Ss makes the output current Ipd to be outputted to one of terminals T1, T2, the bias current source Jb and pulse current source Jp are controlled independently in time by virtue of independent two control signals Cb, Cp. A photosensitive body is exposed by the laser beam L from the semiconductor laser 20 so that a latent image is formed. |
