The meal trolley has a number of compartments (4) provided within a rectangular housing (1), for reception of trays carrying pre-prepared hot and cold meals. Each compartment has an inductive heating device with inductive heating coils coupled to a generator, for heating the hot food within containers provided with a conductive layer, before serving. The cold meals may be kept cold by reception in compartments provided with eutectic cooling devices.
