<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a reverse tilt due to the influence of a lateral electric field nearby a driving wire by varying the shortest distances between a pixel electrode and drain wires on both its sides along columns. SOLUTION: Pixels on a scan start side are relatively short in the shortest distance WL between a pixel electrode CE and a drain electrode DL1 on its left side and relatively long in the shortest distance to a drain wire DL2 on its right side as compared with pixels on a scan end side. Thus, the intervals between the pixel electrode CE and drain wires DL are varied according to potential differences generated between them. Namely, the shortest distances between the pixel electrode CE and drain wires DL are made longer for pixels which are longer in the period wherein the potential differences between them are larger. In an area where the mean voltage between the pixel electrode CE and drain wires DL is high, the shortest distances between the pixel electrode CE and drain wires DL are made long, so the intensity of the lateral magnetic field can be weakened. Consequently, the reverse tilt due to the lateral electric field can be suppressed.</p> |
