PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and efficiently produce granular matters that can be effectively used as an additive by a method wherein papermaking sludge containing a specified amount of moisture is granulated with a disk die horizontal extrusion type granulating machine. SOLUTION: Papermaking sludge 3 containing 40-80wt.% of moisture is granulated with a disk die horizontal extrusion type granulating machine. On granulation, the sludge 3 is put in the granulating machine at a fixed quantity at a time so that the sludge 3 can be prevented from being crushed between a die 1 and a roll 2 and the roll 2 can be prevented from turning on its axis. Then, pressurized and granulated papermaking sludge 4 is obtained. The granulated sludge is dried to some extent by a dryer. Then, the granulated sludge is mixed with an additive such as bentonite or powdered clay and injected into a chamber of an excavator for earth pressure shield driving method. In an earth drill method, the granulated sludge is used, being mixed with muddy substance of bentonite or powdered clay. Thereby, the granular matter that is uniform in grain size and easily handled can be obtained. |
