A temperature sensing assembly comprising a temperature sensing device 10 mounted to an element or thick film of ceramic material 12 which is in turn mounted to, or arranged to be mounted to, a substrate 18 the temperature of which is to be measured. The ceramic material has a high thermal conductivity and a low electrical conductivity. Suitable ceramic compounds include aluminium oxide and aluminium nitride.
