PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for manufacturing an optical contact lens which dispense with a processing for removing an excessive polymer in a post-process after setting of the contact lens on the occasion when the contact lens is manufactured by a closed mold. SOLUTION: A mold cavity 15 is formed between a front curved-surface insert member 52 and a back curved-surface insert member 51 and the side wall of the mold cavity 15 is constituted of the inner wall 38 of a movable annular gate collar member 31. The collar member 31, which is placed at a position of withdrawal during injection of a polymer, is moved to a position of extension before setting of the polymer, so as to complete the mold cavity 15, and thereby the polymer set inside the mold cavity 15 is separated from an excessive polymer being present outside the mold cavity 15.
