PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for wide mouth bottle which can safely and re- sealably unseal a bottle mouth, and is suitable for the recycling of glass resources. SOLUTION: A lower lid 4 made of a flexible synthetic resin, consists of a peripheral wall 6 which is joined to the inner peripheral surface of a bottle mouth, a mountain-shaped top plate 7 to close the bottle mouth, an outer peripheral flange 8 which sits on the top surface 2a of the bottle mouth, a cylindrical member 9 which is confronted with the external surface of the mouth part, an engaging member 10 for a bottle mouth engaging part 1, and a skirt 12 which is connected to the cylindrical member 9 with a fragile part 11 to be broken. Then, an upper lid 5 made of a synthetic resin consists of an upper lid top plate 14, an upper lid peripheral wall 15 which is inserted in the fitting recessed part B of the lower lid 4, an engaging member 17 for an lower lid engaging part 16, a flange pressing member 18, and a top plate pressing member 19. Under a state wherein the bottle mouth is sealed, the outer peripheral flange 8 is pinched by the flange pressing member 18 and the bottle mouth top surface 2a, and the peak part of the mouth-shaped top plate 7 is pressed by the top plate pressing member 19. |
