PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a titanium or titanium alloy sheet capable of obtaining a titanium or titanium alloy sheet free from macropatterns and free from the generation of the dispersion of sheet face properties among materials without executing low temp. rolling. SOLUTION: This is a method for producing a titanium or titanium alloy sheet in which a slab obtd. by blooming forging and/or blooming rolling is subjected to finish hot rolling. In this case, the heating temp. at the time of finish hot rolling is regulated to 700 deg.C to less than theβtransformation temp., furthermore, rolling is executed to the orthogonal longitudinal direction and width direction, and rolling reduction is executed under the condition in which, at the time of defining the rate of working true strains by rolling to the longitudinal direction asεL and the rate of working true strains by rolling to the width direction asεW,εL×εW>=0.25 is valid between both working true strain rates.
