The fluid enters the inlet pipe (4) under gravity or due to some other pressure, and is trapped in a cavity (5), between an inner seat (7) and a flexible membrane (6). The pressure forces the membrane down, allowing the fluid to fill the front chamber (5) and enter (9) the labyrinth (10). At the same time, the membrane seals off the exit seat (15) from the rear chamber (12). The other end (11) of the labyrinth exits into the rear chamber. The membrane vibrates up and down at high frequency.
