A class of omega -amino- alpha -phenylalkanonitrile derivatives is described having use in treatment of cardiovascular dysfunctions such as hypertension. Compounds of most interest are those of the formula: <IMAGE> wherein each of R1 and R2 is methoxy, R3 is hydrido, R4 is isopropyl, R5 is methyl and R6 is selected from linear alkyl, phenylpropyl, phenylbutyl and phenylpentyl.
