PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide molded or fired porous refractories excellent in gas permeability, resistance to a flow of molten steel or corrosion resistance and spalling resistance. SOLUTION: A blend is prepd. by blending 40-76 parts granular aluminous stock with 5-30 parts electromelted mullite stock, 5-20 parts aluminous fine powdery stock, 1-6 parts plastic clay stock, 0.1-5 parts fine powdery chromium oxide stock, 0.5-3 parts frit stock based on the total amt. and 1-4 parts paste based on the total amt. The blend is kneaded under such a pressure as not to break the granular aluminous stock and the kneaded blend is molded. The resultant molded body is fired at >=1,750 deg.C. |
